Provan Summons NRL FanVote Application


To give NRL fans the opportunity to vote for who they think was the best player during the 2014 NRL Telstra Premiership season.

The prestigious Provan Summons Award is the 'fans choice' award, presented to the best NRL player at the Dally M awards night, as voted by fans at the culmination of the NRL season.

The winner of the Provan-Summons Medal is announced during Grand Final Week at the Dally M awards night.

Previous winners of the prestigious award include Ricky Stuart, Bradley Clyde, Terry Lamb, Laurie Daley, Brad Fittler, Andrew Johns, Darren Lockyer, Nathan Hindmarsh and 2013 recipient Greg Inglis.


The FanVote application consisted of two phases.

Phase 1: Fans vote for their top 10 players of the 2014 season.
Phase 2: Fans vote on a shortlist of 10 players as voted by the fans. This is their final chance to vote for their top 3 players in order.



The delivered app was totally responsive across all device types and included:

- Social registration and login via Facebook, Twitter and Google
- A mobile first approach
- Ability for fans to share an image of their team selection via Facebook, Twitter and G+

There were plenty of fans keen to share their opinion on who should win the 2014 Provan Summons 'People's Choice' Award at the Dally M Awards. In the space of a week, there were more than 9,000 individual users who voted via the application during each phase.
